Boat shuttle

From 18 May until 15 September: The shuttle boat Ole Bull will run between Lysøen and Buena Pier in summer 2022.

The museum at Lysøen will be undergoing extensive renovation in the next few years and will be closed to visitors this summer.

You can still visit the island and the beautiful nature!

Boat to Lysøen summer 2022

From 18 May to 15 September, the boat runs in shuttle traffic from Buena quay to Lysøen.

Tuesday – Sunday (Monday closed): Departure from Buena quay every full hour from kl. 11.00-15.00. Last return from Lysøen to Buena quay at 16.30.

The boat trip costs NOK 50 round trip for adults, while it is free for children under 18 years.

The crossing takes approximately eight minutes and leaves from "Buena kai" (Buena Quay) at Lysekloster. There is free parking by the boat.

About the boat:

Ole Bull is nothing less than Norway’s first electric museum boat. It has toilet facilities and is wheelchair accessible.

The boat was built at Måløy boatyard and constructed in close collaboration with Easyform, Stadt Towing Tank and Sea Technology. It is designed by Atle Ellefsen in DNV GL.
