Lysøen is a small island in Bjørnafjorden municipality, approximately 25 km south of Bergen.

You can get to the island by boat from Buena quay at Lysekloster. The ride takes approximately 6 minutes. See timetable for boat shuttle from Buena Quay here You can get to Buena quay by car or public bus.

By car
From Bergen city: Go south on E16 and E39.Then Follow Fana (RV553 and 580). You will pass the Fana church, and make a drive over the small mountain Fanafjell. Follow the signs Buena kai and Lysøen and you will reach the quay.

By bus
Take 'Bybanen' (Bergen Light Rail) to the bus stop at 'Lagunen', take further the bus No. 62 to 'Buena kai' at Lysekloster. You may also take bus No. 600 from Bergen city centre to 'Os/Tøsdalskiftet', and further bus No. 601 to 'Buena kai' at Lysekloster.
